Learn Graphic Design and the Art of Branding

An immersive three day design course, we will build a brand from the ground up, taking into account all the different elements that bring a brand to life.

About your Mentor

As Creative Director and Brand Strategist, he trained at renowned agencies such as TBWA & the Brand Union. Stuart led a creative team across a wide range of projects and clients, including hospitality, finance, retail and governmental and built many successful brands across a number of different markets, including the GCC, Afghanistan and Europe, as well as both East and West Africa.

In 2017, Stuart co-founded a new branding agency - Yellow, where he currently focuses on creating, launching and managing brands and communication across traditional and digital spaces.

Who is this course for?

Whether you're just starting out in the world of brand design, a design student just breaking into the industry, or someone looking to further their understanding of the branding process, this is a fun, challenging, and interactive course.

We start the session by going through a creative agency brief and brand strategy. From there, we will break into teams as we navigate the brand development process together.

These 2 days will be a mixture of teamwork and individual design work, where parts of the class will take place away from the computer as the course emphasis is placed on thought process and aligning the creative with strategy.

 

Here are the eligibility requirements for this course: 

Completed grade 12 or any higher level.

Essential Tools and Materials

Sketchpad and pencils

Laptop with relevant software (Adobe Illustrator / Adobe Photoshop)

Course Outcome

By enrolling in this course, you will gain a clear understanding of how to approach the brand design process. You will know how to look at a brand strategy and ask yourself important questions that guide the direction of your design development.

You will learn how the different elements of a brand come together to form a cohesive story and, as part of a team, you will gain experience working through and presenting your thoughts and ideas.
